Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Development for Small Businesses in Anaheim, Orange & Newport Beach
Diamond Touch Strategies works with small businesses to ensure they are in compliance with Cal/OSHA and OSHA regulations—specifically, their requirement for an effective, written health and safety plan called an Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). An IIPP may also be required by insurance providers in certain industries before they will issue a policy.
What Is an IIPP?
An IIPP is a written health and safety program, specific to every business, that describes in detail the business’s plan to address the following eight elements:
- Who is in charge of workplace health and safety
- How accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses will be investigated
- Workplace hazard identification
- How hazards will be prevented and controlled
- How health- and safety-related issues will be communicated to employees
- What types of health- and safety-related trainings will be offered to employees (and how often)
- What systems will be put in place to ensure employee compliance with health and safety procedures
- How program activities, such workplace inspections and trainings, will be documented, as well as how injuries and illnesses will be recorded
A printed copy of a company’s IIPP must be placed in a central location and be accessible to employees at all times. It must also be readily available for review by OSHA and Cal/OSHA inspectors. The document should be regularly reviewed and updated as workplace conditions change, or when OSHA or Cal/OSHA issues new requirements.
How DTS Helps Businesses with Their IIPP
When you work with DTS to produce your IIPP, we will come to your place of business and assess your workplace, your business activities, and your equipment. We will identify potential health and safety risks and then come up with a plan that meets the health and safety needs of your business and its employees. Our plan will meet all current Cal/OSHA and OSHA standards for an IIPP. We will produce a printed binder that contains your IIPP, which you can keep onsite. DTS can also update your existing IIPP as needed.
